Louisville is the county seat of the Jefferson County and is also the largest city of Kentucky, USA. The city has many attractions for tourists including the famous Kentucky Derby race. This race is a Grade I race for three-year old ponies which is hosted by the city of Louisville each year. The race is usually scheduled on the first Saturday of the month of May each year and continues two weeks.
University of Louisville Kentucky is among the other top attractions of the city. The university was founded in the year 1798 and has a huge historical significance for the city. The university has a diversified culture comprising students from around the US and the rest of the world. The University Health Sciences Center has made substantial contribution towards the medical advancements around the world. It has close to 15000 under graduates and 5000 post grads and receives thousands of applications each year.
The city has several attractions including many well-maintained museums, public parks and many more. The West Main District in downtown also known as the "Museum Row" is a popular place which has Frazier International History Museum. The museum has a rich collection of arms, armor and many other historical artifacts dating back to 10000 years. The building also has a state of the art auditorium and a movie theater in case you wish to witness documentary cinema in relation to history.

The Belle of Louisville is a famous tourist attraction, which is the oldest operated Mississippi style steamboat in USA. This boat has been in operations since the early part of the last century and will be nearing a century soon.
