Charleston South Carolina is one of the top wedding destinations in the United States. It's mainly because of the gorgeous, historic feel you get when you're in this city. With the spanish moss that drapes the hundred year old oak trees and the quaint city streets that dodge in and out of old buildings... you really feel like you've taken a step back in time.

You also can choose the many historic plantations. Going to these is like stepping back in time and one of the few places in Charleston where you can truly be isolated.
Then you have the many barrier islands. One of those being Kiawah Island. It's a beautiful luxury island that is perfect for a story book wedding... and they have so many offerings that make it hands free for you. However, that luxury comes at a cost.
Wedding Cakes:
I have never seen so many great wedding bakeries in one town. And the offerings they can provide you are staggering. Simply put this is your time to do one of the greatest and most fun activities in planning a wedding... the tasting. I suggest you line up about 5 or so and schedule times to go see them and taste what they have. And don't be afraid to make some demands of them and give them exactly what you want. These bakeries can make the exact cake you desire.
I have been to many nice bakeries in downtown Charleston, but I also know of quite a few in Mt. Pleasant... so be sure to check there as well.
Wedding Photographers:
Choosing the right photographer is incredibly important to your wedding. After all you want to be able to look back many years from your wedding day and relive what happened. Having the right photographer is what makes that happen.
I know some great photographers who are extremely affordable and bring with them some amazing talents to capture every moment that means the most to you... like the official kiss. It's very important to interview each photographer and make sure they mesh well with you.
Wedding Dresses:
In Charleston, you will find some of the most amazing options regarding your wedding dress. There are a wide variety of boutiques and every type of dress shop in between. Finding the perfect dress is just a matter of knowing what you want and simply asking for it.
