Do you think it was wrong of Mr. Rochester from Jane Eyre to lock his crazy wife in the attic?
If you were him, would you have killed your insane wife?
In today's society obviously it'd seem wrong to lock your crazy wife in the attic but at the time when the book was written there wasn't many other options available except for a lunatic asylum. At least in the attic, Mr.Rochester made sure she was comfortable and hired Grace the 24/7 carer to look after her.
I'd like to think I wouldn't kill my wife if she were insane. I probably would've sent her off to a mental home or other members of the family if I fell in love with somebody else though. I think Mr. Rochester did the right thing except for not visiting her very often and hiding it from Jane. I mean let's face it, she wasn't just crazy, she kept trying to kill him. He had to lock her in their for the sake of everybody
