Any Lakes/beachs around Glen Ellyn, IL?
Hi, I was wondering if anyone living around Glen Ellyn, IL knows of any good beaches or lakes for swimming. I know downtown has Lake Michigan but it's too crowded to go often. We are now going all the way to Indiana for swimming! If you know of any swimming beaches, that would be great.
Naperville and Batavia have beaches through their park districts:

Both cost $10 per day for a non-resident adult.
There are various pools in DuPage County that, like the beaches above will have a per-day cost. If you're looking for a free beach, though, you'll have to go into Chicago or go to Indiana. Even the Northshore communities charge for public beach access within their city limits.
The one exception to this is Fort Sheridan in Highwood (between Highland Park and Lake Forest). The beach access here is in the county forest preserve and does not have any additional cost. And while this isn't any closer than Chicago, it is closer than Indiana and, to my knowledge isn't that crowded.
