colorizing/tinting a B + W photo?
I've seen some vintage photos online which have been hand tinted/colorized and I'd like to know a simple way of achieving this. I know you can do it in photo shop but I'm interested in how you can do it by hand. Ink?
The old way of colouring photos made on traditional papers was to use Artists Water colours mix a little Wetting Agent with the water for diluting the paint.Washing up liquid,one or two drops to a wineglass of water,is the old recipe.The advantage of these is that the colour can be soaked and blotted out if you make a mistake.The original paints were manufactured by the major artists paint makers,I still have some from the 1930s.Inkjet prints made on water colour paper,as made by Epson and other companies can be used for this technique.
