What categories would you separate postcards into?
My boyfriend and I are indexing our collection of postcards...(4000 postcards). And we are at the point in our indexing that we want to catalog them by subject matter. Though, when we look at them, we get too involved. So...I am looking for some general ideas for categories. Ex. Lighthouses, Boats, Buildings. Thanks

Animals/pets
Kids/babies
People (Men, Women, Old folks)
Comics
but some may fit more than one category... lighthouses and beach scene.... what to do then? Decide that if it has a lighthouse in it then it goes in that category, if it has a boat it goes in boats if it is just a beach scene with waves and palm trees then its just a "beach scene"
