What is the difference between a color model and a color mode?
I have scoured my textbooks and the interwebs and cannot come up with a decent explanation. Help!
I will probably never completely understand it, but what I do understand is that Candid Chris is right the difference is the letter "l" at the end.
Want some good news? You can throw the term "Color Space" on the pile too. Near as I can figure, whom ever created the definitions for these terms did not feel like they would be intelligent if they use the same words, or phrase that someone else had used, so they made new words up to mean the same thing.
The term color mode is used a lot in regards to computer graphic displays and cards. Meaning 8bit, 16bit, 32bit mode, meaning how much resolution is used to create the displayed image. But in photography, Color mode, Color model and Color space are, for the most part, interchangeable.
