How bad is traffic through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park on a weekday in early August?
I'd like to just drive through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park on my way to North Carolina the first week of August but don't want to get stuck in traffic. It will be a weekday. What are the chances of getting stuck in bumper to bumper traffic that time of year?
You should have no problem unless there is an accident or road work along the way. It is congested in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge areas. Otherwise, traffic isn't too bad in Aug. It gets worst when the leaves change colors in the fall.
